Hi im having trouble starting my v8 3.9 from cold, im having to take out the plugs every time i try and start it from cold "plugs are wet with fuel!!

Once its warm and running its fine, please help before i burn it :(

Could be a number of things first whip a plug out and check how strong of a spk you have. Could also be a bad earth which will cause a weak spark. Sounds like weak spark is the problem there are loads of things that could cause this but before I list them all check the spark first

Of corse there is a spark if it runs when hot that is not what I said re-read and then go to your car

Yeah should be a strong blue colour have you changed the rota arm and if so did you clean the contact with a bit of sand paper and wd40? If plugs are wet it means it isn't burning the fuel so must be spark??

Should also add why did you change the ecu and how much was it? To check bad earth put a jump lead straight from batt to engine but make sure you do negative NOT possitive. Or use a multi meter and measure the voltage between batt and then positive side of batt and engine? Should be almost the same?

I have a spare range so never cost anything, dark and cold now so i try that tom...
Thanks for your time and help...

No worries that's wot this forum is all about some like to take the **** but there are people on here that are willing to help even if they do ask silly questions

Still no joy im having to use jump leads to coz the batt is going flat so that would be earthing it out am i write???

Go on the V8 and Range Rover sections and do a search for "won't start" or "ignition problem" I'm sure you'll get a lot of info. Good luck.
