I need to know what water pump pulley sits furthest back as I'd like to run my exsiting crak pulley (hybrid pulley) there must be so many different types and offsets of pulley. Worse case is I change my crank pulley for an efi one and run that If it fits.

There must be 10s of different offset water pump pulleys. Failing that the old man might get a job in his lathe!

I had the rover p6 V8 in my series and the waterpump pulley was a good inch further back than the sd1 thats in it now,its so much further back that if you put a p6 pump on any other engine you need to remove the spacers from behind the alternator bracket or the belt won't line up.
Also the pump is very short so its ideal if you don't have much space between the engine and radiator.

This is a pic of the p6 engine

I had a rover v8 in a mk1 escort and that used a p6 timing cover and water pump to help it all fit it too!
