Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can find a V8 to LT77 Adaptor ring please?

Either I'm being a dumb*** (probably the case), or don't seem available anywhere anymore.

Cheers

Ha ha no. It's a Detroit 638 diesel. The adaptor is bolted to a flywheel housing from a RRC 2.4 VM engine.
I have a 3.6 6 cylinder VM engine and I've been sniggering about trying to sort the gearbox out for it. This setup seems to work perfectly with the 4cyl LT77 or shorty R380. And hopefully everything will fit snug in my 90. Fingers very highly crossed:confused:

whats up with the box thats in it now

It's a 50A suffix D box that in reverse sounds like it's about to grind to bits v clunky going into a other gears and it has what looks like a SD1 V8 bell housing on that has a big hole cut for starter

The trouble is the length of current bell housing (and the gaping hole at the top and bottom where casing has been modded to fit slave) and the 4CYl LT 77 has a different bolt pattern to the VM.

I stupidly just brought a 54A suffix G RRC box with bell housing that was off a VM, only to realise when I picked it up that the bell on that is 300mm.
I was kind of hoping I could get an adaptor and a short bell, throw them all together with the boxes at someone capable of rebuilding and end up with one box that fits

im very familiar with the boxes and you can fit a def short bell housing to a 54a g suffix box using a a 56a shaft but no idea on the adapters

Yes.
May be wrong but, I thought earlier boxes presumably like fitted to VM range rivers were different to later ones by like 1 or 2 splines?

So I suppose in theory then I could just get a generic (good quality skf or something) bearing with a larger ID to match like a 200tdi bush?
Fit the 56A shaft and fanny's me aunt, provided I can find the adaptor lol
