Anyway on to my problem - have got a series 1 comper that i am trying to "pimp up" a bit, has a sd1 v8 married up to a borg warner 3 speed auto with a series 3 transfer box, i am trying to marry up an electric speedo to the cable fed transfer box - any suggestions/help would be much appreciated !

now then.

I do like a problem that requires some interesting kit, BEHOLD: Auto Meter

you'll be need something like this hall effect speedo sender. Though that one won't fit, but you could always bodge.

I think I've found me next project! (fancy buying a prototype? :))

Hi Sturg,

Are you making it road legal as I'm trying to do?
I'm just using a simple cable and speedo head none of that fancy stuff for my 80 inch!

Are you runing Rangie running gear axles or series axles?

If series what have you done to uprate the internals???

Thanks guys - in answer to some of your questions:
Is road legal at present, has range rover axles (not sure what vintage) for those of you more knowledgeable peoples out there - if you look on the MORC website and go to vehicles for sale it is still on there! (despite me having owned it for 7-8 months!) it was apparently a landy of some note driven by a guy called Mick Gillett? and did in fact feature in one or two of the monthlies as "Possibly the fastest leafer in the world" - i can attest to that!!! My aim is to get it back looking like a real land rover (green / canvas etc) and then "surprise" the hatchback club!

best way is to get a transducer in the hole of the box that fits and turns whilst in drive, then a peripheral one picking up on the propshaft, and finally a transducer that turns mechanical movement (from the speedo cable) that electrically connects to the updated electronic speedo thats installed ? Get a transducer in the box hole and ill make it wrok !!!
