Just done some maths and with following I found the V8 to cost slightly more

Petrol £1.23 per liter
Diesel £1.27 per liter

On a 40 mile run the …

TDI getting 25 mpg will use 7 liters
V8 getting 20mpg will use 9 liters

So the V8 would cost an extra £2.18

That sound about right ??

Now recalculate

LPG 71.9p per ltr
Diesel 126.83 per ltr
(average prices in Swindon from petrolprices.com)

The same hyperthetical journey would cost £7.26 on LPG and £9.22 on diesel

Thats assuming that diesel is still returning 25mpg but that lpg has caused the V8 to drop to 18 MPG.

In fact for the costs to both equal out at £9.22 each the LPG V8 would need to drop to just over 14mpg (14.18 to be exact)

That's all on paper of course but you can see why I'm considering a LPG converted V8. There's loads available with LPG already on and there is 2 filling stations where I live, less than 1/2 mile from work

Now re run it on bio 15 p per litre :)

Im sure iv managed to get about 22 with careful driving from the 3.9. Should really do a full service, that would prob help. Change all the breathers too.
