Just a thaught im throwing out there.
Ive got a 3.9 v8 serp thats lets say had its fair share of issues but thanks to you guys esp the senior members ive got it running at near 100% .
My question is im running her on mine mineral 20/50 and the engine seams fine . I have been looking a lucas oil stabilizer to add to it just to give that extra protection.
In the local autoparts they have a little gizmo with 3 cogs in it that you turn and you can see difference between std oil and oil with lucas .
Sorry for long post . What do people think cause i cant decide .thanks

I use to use ZX1 in my RRC 3.5 days along with 20w50, the first time I used it the engine idle revs went from 700 to 2000, I first saw it a Billing where they has a demo stand.
When I tried ZX1 in my disco 3.9 I didn't notice a thing, I expect the ECU took care of the excess idle speed, if there was one.
I don't bother now with the oil additives as I always use 10w40 semi-synth, 20w is not on the LR oil recommendation list in my owners handbook.

Im not a fan of 10/40 even thou its what the book says . Its way to thin for engine esp these v8s they have very low oil pressure when idleing. I found 20/50 perfect for mine the oil pressure rose by 15psi.

yes.as is millers as is mobile 1 10-60.

lucas stuff is good..but not worth extra as remewmber you dumpo it every oil change...which YOU WILL be doing every 3000 or so so go decent tobegin with..

i use what ever is on offer out the 3 above..valvoline is used in my gearbox too (lt85)and it really likes that..and to be fair thats a real test for the oil...(400hp)
