Hello all I have taken out the original 19j engine and gearbox from my 1989 110 csw I am replacing it with a v8 which has the lt 85 gearbox on it' this came out of a 1987 defender I have dropped it in using the off side gearbox mount as a reference but the near side mounting bracket looks too high does anyone know if the mounting brackets are different for the lt85 gearbox I had been told I would need to move the front engine mountings which I have done but they look too high as well any help would be very much appreciated

originaly lt85 would sit an inch or too further forward like a 300tdi,the correct mounts should just bolt to the chassis

Yes I thought that but the nearside gearbox mount looks too high up thats why I thought it must be a different mount as the gearbox mounts are bolted on opposed to welded like the front engine mounts I am hoping someone might have a photo so I can compare them with mine thanks foe the reply James

chassis mounts are different for lt85

OK that's great I will try and source some lt 85 mounts now I know there different thanks again
