did the gas run out or did you assume it ran out from the guage?
i suspect the elec guage on the dash is only wired to one tank( mine is the same but with tanks in spae wheel space, RR p38) thus giving you the level on both tanks in height of liquid but you have 2x as much as what the guage indicates. easiest thing to do is run it dry and then fill till the pump stops and read litres delivered.
lpg tanks dont air lock as the gas is under high pressure.
there are often, non return valves on the pipework and these can fail or collapse and effectively block the pipes.
there also should be shut off valves on each tank, you can turn these off on the tank you suspect faulty. or check they are both on!
and lastly there will be solenoids on each tank, if one of these isnt working or the connections or wires are broke, gas will not flow from the tank but i doubt this is your problem.
i know the guage will not be accurate, none are on lpg, the best way to guage your fuel is using the tank level guage(probably not visible in your case) or reset the trip counter on speedo when you fill up. or the best way is to calibrate your guage with the software for your lpg system. i'm in the process of doing this and can only guage the fuel by the software or tank indicator as its still not correct on the guage in the dash!!
whats the make of the lpg controller?
