Bit like the plonker in Spain trying to matriculate a "custom"v8 defender in Portugal a while back...They ask for comments\advice thinking everyones going to agree\listen and pat them on the back...I come here for advice\comments\ opinions and listen to whats said

Hi guys
Tvr bought there exhaust down either side of the car like a true v8/yank.
I'd like to do this to my p38, but with the fuel tank and air tank in the way it seems impossible, so what's everyones thoughts on this idea:
A duel entry and exit centre box, coupled with a y branch to swap the sides over and get an equal tuned pipe out of the back.
I know about tuning the pipe to the engine so swapping left to right via the y branch would theoretically give an equal run to each side of the engine under the car, and possibly let the engine perform better.

Comments welcome
I think you've received fair comments.
You have a 4.6 rover v8 in a p38. It's not fast and the cost / benefit analysis of making it fast is eye watering. If you have swallowed the mark Adams £700 placebo it will have a good fuel map, with very little gain in power over standard. It's not like he can raise the boost pressure. The exhaust mod might gain 15bhp. Do it badly and it will lose bottom end.
Tvr needed to bring the exhaust in front of the engine but it didn't gain anything. Just put a hot spot where you don't want one. They also took a hard boff of glue before they quoted horsepower figures. If you're using standard throttle, inlet, and heads, there are bigger gains to be found getting the charge in than blowing it out
