Should be a fairly straightforward swap providing your flywheel on your old motor will fit the serpentine crankshaft after removal of the torque converter.
You may have to swap the exhaust manifolds from old motor as well if the serpentine one was on cats, think the flanges were different where the downpipes bolt on.
It can certainly be done, think of all the weird and wonderful motors that have ended up in Land Rovers over the years ;)
