I'm new to this game so be calm with me
I've got a landrover hybrid with a v8 3.9 efi I started it yesterday and it was running sweet as a nut
Come this morning I've tried to start it and it won't start up and I don't know why can any1 help it fires but just doesnt run

not an expert at all these are just things id check based on answers ive had from similar qus...

Presume you've got spark + fuel + compression considering but not necessary in right order.

Any moisture in the dizzy especially on a cold day like today? Mine wouldnt idle for abit this morning but after abit of tickleing she was fine.

Bit of redex through the injectors ?
 
Cant imagine your compression would go from sweet as a nut to not enough overnight is all.

What do you mean by it fires ?
 
I really don't understand it at it sounds like it starts but can't get to fire completely there is a bit of a splutter then it just turns over

Make sure you have a strong, fully charged battery. Try starting with throttle wide open, if it doesn't like that idea try advancing the ignition timing a bit but remember to mark where the dizzy is before you start.
 
Hi thanks for helping I think I've found the problem I'm not getting a spark form dizzy to spark plug so I'm going to change the dizzy cap and needle and hope it solves it

Have you checked you're getting a spark from the king lead? Assuming that you do, then a new rotor arm and cap would be a sensible way forward but make sure you only fit genuine Lucas parts, cheap pattern rotor arms and caps don't tend to last too long.

I posted a thread on here couple days ago say my v8 won't start manged to fire it up this morning after changing spark plugs, leads, dizzy cap and arm I ran it down the road sound bit rough but it all cleared and sound ok. Bought back home and tried to start it again and wouldn't start
I took spark plugs out they were very black and wet ie petrol I also took oil cap of and it was yello and smelt of petrol
Is there anyway of fixing this running rich problem thanks
