Hi All,

Finally got my new(isn) engine in and all ready to go. just doing the electrics which is not a strong point.

Can anyone tell me what the pin out is for the condenser? (not sure if thats the correct name) the small black box thats on the side of the distributor.

it had two spade connectors and from memory this went to the + and - of the coil/balast.

from goggling some diagrams call this the ignition amplifier, however i thought this was only used on electric ignition cars.

Thanks

So are you saying you have points and condenser with an amplifier on the side

Can you get some pictures up . then it may all become clear ( to some one )

:D

engine,year,car ???give us a fecking clue please...willing to help....but!!!

The pin closest to your radiator in this picture goes to the negative side of the coil (its the trigger from the amp to the coil)

The other pin (the one in the side direction as the amplifier itself) goes to the positive side of the coil. Make sure this is a 12 volt feed to your coil though is its the power wire to energise the amplifier / dizzy pick up and that needs 12 volts (not a ballasted supply)

Hope this helps.
Once running, drop some ignition upgrades on it to make sure you burn your fuel air mix as best you can as many run with 20 - 30 year old ignition systems and waist MPG due to it :)
