Hello Everyone,
I have an 1988 110 3.5 V8, I am currently 15 years old and I am planning ahead so I was wondering the cost of insurance of 3.5 V8 at 18.
Yours Sincerely Burtie

whats the point in asking ? in three years insurance is gonna be completely different to what it is now! you get major fluctuations so nothing now will be relevant then, wait til 3 months before then ask

Its the V8 & 3.5 that they will rub their hands at. Many a grand Burtie, probably much more than the motor is worth.

Like the Dr said is correct though, leave it a year or 2 and ask just before you need it.

Best of luck.

Can only see insurance going up for these new drivers, say that when the time does come look at limited mileage policies, and those boxes that go in and monitor your driving, as with a defender it aint gonna be flying it round corners at 40mph.

there again sod saving for insurance its petrol you have to worry about! be 3quid a litre by then ;) and a v8 110 is gonna drink your wallet dry!

none the less start saving now for whatever you get, even a clapped out old 1.0L Nissan micra will cost a stupid amount on your first year for insurance :(

I paid 1400 for a 1.0L VW Polo on my first year after buying the car for 800quid!

first quote my sister got on a 1.4 09 seat ibiza was 4grand lol so good luck only way you will get it down is if you have the black box fitted to monitor your speed and mileage.

200tdi 90 was 2400 for me on own policy shouldnt think it would be much more with a v8 tbh. But as has been said may be completely different in 3 years

Go on to a comparison site and put your age down as 18, then let us know what it says!

Lucky man, having a V8 at your age ;)

Not really. Putting a 20yo lass on my insurance wasn't that bad on my '94 3.9 V8. The V8 disco was actually cheaper to insure than my mums 1.5 kia rio. Her 1.4 pugugly 207 and a 300TDI disco!

Any man is lucky to have a V8. My first car was a 2.0 ford orion cossie crossbreed. Cost my nan 4.8k to insure for the year :D Was looking at 1k-1.5k for a little Eurobox back then.

We'll done for getting a v8.
But you're going to get smashed for the cost of insurance - especially with declared mods like a roof tent etc and the intention of international high mileage driving.

Personally I think you're in a dream world unless you have extremely wealthy parents who are willing to throw away huge sums of cash at a cross continental 10mpg jaunt of self-discovery.

The cost of the landy itself is likely to pale into insignificance in comparison to all the other costs you'd encounter.

International jaunt? Did I miss a post?
