I have wide angle props but the are both f*#ked only 11 months and 1500 miles ish old, the shop dint want to know so trading standards are involved now.

I have gwyn Lewis setup on my 90 and it flexs alot,

Now I know its gona take a while to sort out the dispute so if I out my old standard props back in and I gona have problems?

My front and rear diff both have play in the inputs from the props seizing so damgeing them isn't a worry really, I'm prity sure the front would be ok its just the rear,

This is almost full twist on the rear.

How often did you grease the props? Were they used heavily off road?

I grease mine every 1000 road miles or after every off road session.

I have a similar set up as you Do with QT Rose jointed trailing arms. I have wide angled props that are also pooped, i Showed the retailer the set up i wanted from else where and the price and they supposidley matched it, obviously with inferior parts.
Ive even ended up with 2 sets of springs to get it level and even lift blocks, they claim my winch is too big, they even wanted to charge me for the second set of springs. I spent over 5k in one go with them.
the front prop went from a 200 mile road trip to camp seemingly fine with no vibrations to falling apart after one lane, i ended up having to hammer an oversize uj in as they dont appear as wide as i would have thought (although wider than standard) and not being able to fit the circlips as the uj caps now sit flush with the yolks, ive ended up having to use a punch to knock the shoulder of the yolks into the uj caps to stop them coming out, it got me through the weekend of severe lanes and the 200 mile trip home, and they seem fine now, although all other three uj`s now need replacing.
Im not sure what make the props are but ill be getting double cardon now although i was originally put off with them as i gather uj`s cant be replace. Having said that neither can mine if i replace them all with the same ones i have changed the one with, i suppose ill have to carry spare props now as well as shafts and cv`s lol
Let us know if you have any joy with anything else.
This is mine having a little stretch

i wouldnt have thought youd win ,if youve been off roading especially with pics like that

As its an off road specialist that advertise in prepping for off roading, its a part for use in conjunction with off road suspension, ts said they would have spot sort it as they arnt 12 months and not it for purpose, the shop is well known but they can have there chance to sort it befor I go shouting there name on here,

Yeah they have been used off road but not in competition if that's what your asking. I'm running 265/75/16 tyres not 35/36/37" like my mates

They have been greased nearly every time I go befor and or after off roading or befor I go away with the caravan,

As the rear slider is seized so that it needs hammering apart someone said it could have twisted the splines.

This is mine having a little stretch

I bought prity much all the suspension from gwyn Lewis who was very helpfull, I wish I had bough the props off him aswell, I it them locally as I forgot I needed them after I had revived my gl order.

tim, ujs are replacable in double cardons,
are they? I thought it was you who said not?? Might be wrong ? some one told me. I think double cardons it is then.
Im a little ****ed cos the original catalogue i saw them in had double cardon props in the kit, but my supplier was challenged with price matching so obviously cut corners.
I wont be using them when i start the other 90 thats for sure

i put dg's on the 90, but paid £1000 for the 2, so hoping they last a lot longer than your props did

Spoke with them today and they have said to take them back and they will send them to the supplyer and it can take upto 8 weeks to say of it's under warrenty,

But he also said they have never warranted one yet,

How many times would you say is normal for prop shaft greasing? Or how many miles?

Depends entirely on type of use, how often they're under full articulate strain and the main killer - water ingress.

I run wide angled Bailey Morris, Gwyn Lewis props on mine and have put them through all of the above inc a 3500 mile trip to Morocco, and I haven't had any trouble at all.

I had some spurious wide angle props on my old 90, the sliders had seized solid on them.
After half a day with a hammer and plenty of plusgas I managed to separate them, the problem was the male splines were plastic coated and damp had got under the coating causing a v.tight fit, I removed the coating a reassembled with plenty of grease and they were fine.

The only problem then was there was some play in the splines causing even more transmission slop and over time I could see the splines wearing. I replaced both props with standard items as I was selling the 90. My other 90 has Gwyn Lewis wide angle ones fitted which I've never had any bother with the sliders at all just the usual uj wear and these have been on for over 8 years now.

I've only got my old props still cause you said I should keep them incase I ever need one lol
