Hi lads i used the low ratio gears today for the first time in the ice and snow there was a distictive whiring sound is this normal ?

Hi yes it was when i was moving and going up through the gears i did try to change from low to high when moving but my inexperience led to beeping and a message saying put me in neutral you doughnut. It loves the snow and ice though sooooooo much better than my bm coupe which would have been undrivable in these conditions

Yeah, cause it's a motorised shift you can't switch on the move. Tis, loads of fun in the snow tho. You shouldn't need low unless it's a steep ascent or decent tho, as a general rule the highest gear possible will limit spinning, although the TC helps of course. What year is your's?

Hi i was on a a pretty steep incline which went down in stages, but i did drive it for about half a mile on the flat so wont be doing that again mines a 99 4.6 hse with 57 k

Is it just on the newer cars where you can change from High to Low on the move? I remember doing it on the Land Rover experience day I went on where you put the car in neutral and then pressed the switch to change.
