Hi everybody! I am a new member to this site. I have been very unfortunate to back into a tree on my Welsh holidays and my spare wheel damaged badly the back door. On a bright side – the tree was not damaged. On a sad side – I need a replacement door. Do you or anybody you know has a spare door feeling sad and needing an adventure? Many thanks!

Morning, Welcome to the site,

Unfortunately, this is reading like a wanted post, members need 50 posts before they can post a wanted ad sadly.

But good luck, post a piccie of the damage.

Cheers

Here you go!!!

The tree obviously don't like the ScotNats burghering around in yakkidah sheeps country, and so it jumped out and twotted you when you weren't looking!!
However, they are not too expensive to buy new, although if you are broke, a good dolly and a rubber hammer should straighten out the creases.

The car came from Scotland originally hence the badge. We were in Scotland a few weeks ago visiting my daughter in Edinburgh and then went up to Oban to be eaten alive by midges :(. The trees there were more friendly than in Wales ;).

The door is well fooked - the metal supports for the wheel carrier have torn the metal on the inside :(

Rear doors come up all the time. So far as im aware, there all esentially the same fit, be it puma style pressed steel, or the td5/300/200 style.

Just get on ebay or facebook and grab one. Cheap end is £50, crazy dealers £500. Sp4x4 will do you one for a couple of hundred -

I have become quite an expert in Defender rear door since this 'mishap'. The later style ones are pressed steel and are not a frame with a skin on them, according to my other half. The difference is easily visible at the bottom of the window - the earlier ones are square bottomed whilst the later ones have a round bottom, and we all now that nice round bottoms are better than square ones :)

Yep, I know. As I said, they're all essentially the same though.

The puma ones rust just as well as the welded. It's just you don't see it as much because they're all that much younger.

I know if I was buying I'd get one of the welded galvanised ones.
