Also @Kingly

If you get a pattern part, pop in to see Steve at Pirtek.

If he cannot do it, then he reckons he can get one made.

Cheers

Cheers Neilly. I am waiting for a call from a breaker as he may have one. It depends if they damage it when they remove it. If I have no luck with this, I will get a damaged one and take it to Steve.

Success - Breakers have one - Not cheap, but at least it will keep me on the road. I am going to use the old one as a template and see if PIRTEC can make one up. As this is second hand, it may well go at some point. If not, I know there is a market out there and will sell it at some point.

Good news,

If Pirtek cannot do it, then I would look at the company I linked in Buckingham, they may be your next best bet.

Hope it all goes well during the swapover.

Cheers

Update: Thanks, Meego. I phoned Island 4x4 up and they said it was on back order. The new hose arrived and I was going to drive the Disco to my local mechanic. However, could not engage gear. Tried bleeding the system - no luck. Called the RAC and they tried bleeding the system. Air was getting in and bleeding was impossible. The RAC chap very kindly changed the pipe for me.

Took the old pipe to Pirtek who highlighted that it had been repaired before and when I compared the two, this was very true. The repair was obviously leaking for a long time. The pipe had been cut and reconnected. The ends were crimped on and this is where it was leaking from. I asked about creating a new pipe and the bottom line was it would be very fiddly and expensive, if it could be done. A suggestion was to get some Goodrich hose and put two ends on. This is becoming a concern. If this pipe is a weakness and landrover aren't producing them anymore, these could stop the Discos in their tracks. Having phoned a few salvage people, the pipes are hard to come by. I only hope mine will now last a few years.

Thank you all for your help. It was really appreciated.

The new hose arrived

So did you get the new hose from Island 4x4? or was this the one from the breaker?

So, are Pirtek saying it cannot be done with new parts? or will it just be expensive?

Did you try the company in Buckingham for the pipe?

Cheers
