been offered a t plate diesel freelander (which would solve the prob of my petrol to diesel convert)

problem is he says "there is a slight knocking sound coming from the back end when tight cornering sometimes"

any ideas what this could be at the worst case

cheers dean

It may well be your prop shaft bearings, had a similar prob on my old t plate, was fixed under warranty, probably about 500-600 quids worth through a mainstream garage.

If it sounds like exhaust/silencer banging against something, could easily be front diff mounting bracket broken - known problem - easily and cheaply fixed. I visual underneath if you kerb one side to look see would confirm or jack one rear wheel and give it a sharp turn back and forth. Noise appears on more slow forward turns, by the way.
