Help please, I need some advice on this...

I've had the Disco for a month now and have been checking all the levels regularly so as to spot any probs,

The oil level was stable at about 75% (between min & max on dipstick) for a while, I drove up to Inverness from Gloucestershire a couple of days ago (visiting inlaws) and checked the oil, now reading 100% !, have been driving locally (upto 100 mile round trips) for the last couple of days and keeping a close eye on the level, has slowly crept up to 125% !!!

The engine has done 97K so i'm thinking possibly lift pump diaphram leaking ? Does any one have any experience or other thougts on this ?

Worst thing is I don't have any tools with me (this is well within my capabilities) and i'll be leaving the Disco up here for a fortnight with the wife (I have to fly back down to work and then fly back later) and then drive back down south, obviously I don't want to be driving around with a rising oil level, posssibly contaminated with diesel (thinning the oil)...

Thanks, Jon

Waht does the oil look like and what is your water level like? Also it's probably a silly point to make but you have always checked the oil level on a firm and level standing. I think the best time to check is first thing in the am.

All sorted now, nothing wrong with the disco, but I don't half feel like a ****...
Parked on a slight slope, nose down, and guess what if I turn it round (nose up) it only reads just over min on the stick. I really must get this paranoia sorted out...
A case of overlooking the obvious I think.

Thanks for the reply anyway.

I wouldnt be half as paranoid as I am ..if everyone wasnt out to get me!

In the spy business they say that they realise they are paranoid, but wonder if they are paranoid enough! :D

Nice to see the problem sorted...gravity is a bitch eh?

Better to find out before you have stripped the engine down - it's surpirising how much a slight slope affects the level at the dipstick.
