Hi all,

I have a 57 plate Freelander 1. The wing mirrors (electric mirrors, but not electric folding) have become slightly loose and aren't clicking nicely into place. A rough hand-car washing place to blame.

Anyway, I wanted to know, is it possible to upgrade the wing mirrors to make them fully electric folding? Where I park means I have to manually push the mirrors in each night, which I don't think helps with the wear/tear.

So, is it possible and if not, any tips on how to fix them?

Yep it is. You need door harness from electrical folding version, mirror switch with folding function, relay (03 MY) or ECU 01-03, and mirrors of course (5+2 pin) :)
Wiring in cockpit is on place. In 03-06 MY's you will have relay base RHF A-Post. , on earlier cars it will be Folding Mirror ECU under centre console, near gearstick.

You need to fit relay/ecu, replace the switch and fit door harness (or add two wires on each side - check wiring diagram on LR Rave - wiring is done to a-post connectors). At the end you replace mirrors with electric folding ones - and you're done :)

I can do it without a ecu and it will cost just a few pounds I will do a drawing of the wiring and post it on here

Sorry, 56 plate

Thanks teddywood1, going to get some quotes as to be honest its prob above my skills

It's not that difficult. The wiring is there. All you need is the control relay, the switch and power fold mirrors.
I did the same conversion on my Discovery 3.
