I'm wondering is someone can help me out with some of the wiring in my engine bay?

I've just noticed a couple of unused connectors attached to the wiring loom near to the battery/fuse box

One is just to the right of the battery, with a black connector which looks as though it connects to a kind of terminator on the inner wing behind the NS headlight, and the other with a grey connector which is just dangling down near the fuse box.

The cable colours are:
Purple/Red Stripe and White for the smaller black connector
Purple/Pink Stripe and White/Black Stripe for the larger grey connector

Can anyone point me in the right directions as to whether they should actually be connected to anything?

Thanks.

It would be helpful to know what engine and year the Freelander is ;)

Indeed that would have been helpful! It's a 2006 TD4.

Here's pictures:

Thanks.

have same unused connectors in mine ( 2006 td4 )
i assume they're probably for an f.b.h. .. don't know for sure
everything works as it should .. ( they're not for fog lamps )
guessing they're for some optional extra

It's not for the FBH. The colours are wrong.

This is my FBH plugs. I took this picture when I did my FBH remote control. The 2 red wires were added by me. The others are factory fitted.

Not fogs, have got those.

The driving light kit comes with its own loom (I have one in a box waiting to be fitted).

I've checked all the wiring diagrams I can find and can see the colours anywhere!

Maybe it's for the flux capacitor!
