Hey, been getting the 3 amigos a bit more often than not now, particularly after some off roading yesterday using HDC. Fault code is 4073: outlet valve left hand front (power amp. With short to...uvent) ??
Don't really know if this just means I need to shuttle valve switch mod, I only swapped the abs modular for a spare I had a couple months ago.
..or is this an SLS code, if I recall they both xume under the ABS section of Hawkeye.

If the fault code was retrieved with hawkeye i hope that you still have the old modulator cos the code is about an OV circuit which is a solenoid in the unit.... though if you've got this code before the swap it's a wiring issue. Clarify this and we'll speak then, what's certain is that it's not about SVS... i say again if the code was shown by hawkeye , cos if it's about nanocom there are doubts
 
My old modular did have a code and infact I think you told me what it was in a previous thread, I'm fairly sure it wasn't this code though, its only really shown up in the past couple weeks, no codes before. It is in fact Hawkeye yes, and the code has come back after clearing. So this isn't a fixable thing.. cause I do have yet another spare module here if I really have to change it.. again :confused:
 
Yes m8, if you have another modulator change it again...then we'll see, let's hope it's not some wiring issue between the modulator and the SLABS ECU, eventually if you have one spare SLABS too replace that to rule it out cos it's not uncommon for this ECU to make tricks... at least we know that the code is accuarte being retrieved with hawkeye.

I do have a spare slabs ecu too, but I was thinking of getting an 04 slabs with the updated CDL thing for when I put one in. It looks a little tricky to change mind?
I'm just sorta thinking it's probably the modular though.. although that's enough of a hassle to change too o_O

Did end up swapping the abs modular (only yesterday) as the fault didn't occur *too much*
Had it off a low mileage V8. Now... Again same fault code after a while.. sometimes caused by bumpy roads etc.
Any idea where to start checking wiring..?

Dis you rule out the ECU too? make sure there's no corrosion in the plugs cos water ingress there is not uncommon... chasing a wiring issue on that circuit without knowing for sure that everything else is OK can be a nightmare also the problem is that it's intermittent so continuity test on that wire can be irrelevant ... after the ECU was ruled out the only simple thing is to rewire that OV circuit between the ECU and modulator by routing a new wire, i'll tell you which one

Ahhh.. well, will pull slabs out and check plugs when it stops raining.. so God knows when. I've already got a spare slabs ecu, if you recall I got one when I was having those ride height problems.
Really hope it's not a case of broken wire, sure does sound a hassle.

Well haven't checked the slabs yet, but had to take the fuse box out earlier. My sunroof has been leaking for a long time now, fob receiver has been barely working for a couple weeks and today most of the bcu controlled functions stopped working along with the flashing "B"
Saw fusebox was wet so got it out and dried it for an hour, refitted and that fixed all that.. except the now flashing mileage where its gone out of sync..
So anyway, wouldn't be all that surprised if the slabs ecu/plugs have been water damaged.
 
Just to clear this one up, 3 amigos was becoming more of a constant thing that was annoying me, so decided to swap slabs and check plugs today. As I removed one plug another came out with it (without pushing tab in) So I think that one of the plugs wasn't fully pushed in. After 15 mins of bumpy roads and hard braking I can't recreate the fault so think that was all.. after the hassle of swapping the ABS pump AGAIN :p
