Recently bought a a 1986 defender 90 and have started to work on it to get it up and running again but found this switch and I have no clue what it does as I’m still new to defender wondering if anyone knows what it does

And I thought the switch wasn’t standard as I haven’t seen one before so I have no clue what it does

Looks like an aftermarket add-on. Where does the wire go to? Might give a clue. Spot light, electric fan, rear work light? Could be anything!
An 86 might not have the bonnet release cable, just the lock and lever on the bonnet.
Is that dual plug cigar lighter/USB socket below it?

Yeah I’ll give that ahi tonight and see where it goes to Cheers
And yeah the USB port and cigar lighter are below
 
@Oscar barker 123 , you have a 1986 Land Rover Ninety, as per others above. No idea as to the switch, its location is the original bonnet pull location. Suggest follow wire back to the feed component and/or the supply fuse - keep if you want the function, remove if you don't.

Chances are the general wiring condition will be poor throughout so really worth checking and cleaning all earth points on your new Ninety. Good luck
