Finally got it stripped, its a raiko bush with a seal round the half shaft between cv and final drive, I think its got 24 splines going into the Cv, could be 22, its low 20 something, 10 spline final drive, seals are goosed, found mud contamination in the swivel housing but the grease was still thick. Its pretty grim , all the swivel seal plate bolts had turned to mush, swivel to axle bolts were fine thankfully but it may be prudent to replace them anyway. Swivel ball seal was still doing its job but its pretty goosed, front pads need changing, suspension needs sorting, so all in all nothing surprising!View attachment 134115

Thankyou James, the securing split ring was mangled. Are the ball seals all the same, I guess I should just get as early as possible. You don't happen to know the pre load off hand do you? I'm sure its in my workshop book somewhere.

ftc3401 is the bal seal was frc2889 but supercedes up
8-10 lbs with seal not secured
 
Thanks James, were there two different kinds? I'm reading about thick ones and thin ones. Corteco list them as 15510032 and 15510032B
 
That bronze bush in the stub shaft, I take it that needs cutting out to get to the seal?
