Hello all,

All I know is that their frozen. Not sure whether to replace or repair. Any help would be wonderful.

Your probably right. The video is a good.tutorial.
I was more concerned about if I need parts or a rebuild kit of some sort.
I've looked around and can't match anything to the picture for company info.
Look a little like AVM but letter on the grip are different.

Thanks Mystery.
Just by chance I did some extensive site searching on site and found another member' post( 12 years ago)with almost the same issue I have. It answered my questions.
Moving forward, tried to loosen the lock/ free hub center cap...it crushed and broke apart. Guess this will change directions to a replace as opposed to repair event.
Thanks for the help

HI there, i just came across this post, i am new to the forum and have just started a rebuild of my 1972 S3 and have the exact same issue in that i have free wheeling hubs but of a completely unknown brand/design! you mentioned a post from 12 years ago which answered your q's, would you mind at all posting that link? I've put a pic of mine below which are also different to yours and despite trawling through pictures online i cannot find any that look like the ones fitted to my series 3.

if anyone else is able to help me out with what they are that would be great.

(P.S. the Geoffrey Croker videos are class)

thanks all
G

Personally I’d get rid. They serve no practical purpose and won’t show any benefits. Just another point of failure and maintenance.

If they had been needed or offered significant benefits. They would have been fitted from the factory by Land Rover. And they never were in the best part of 40 years production.

Hi Glen, to be honest I'm really not sure who the member was that made the 12 year old hub repair post. As possessed as I was to find an answer other things just took priority. It was a 12 year old post though, that I do remember.
I haven't decided how I want to make the repair, replace or go back to original.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
