You didn't used to have a bike rack did you?
ha, bit heavy duty for that, cant understand the adjustable bolts, must have been one each side and something bolted to ut
Was just a thought - if they were taken off 5 years back it could be 20 years since they were fitted....and the early bike racks were much heavier duty (as were the bikes back in the day.....)
A mate had a Saab with tow bar and bike rack set up that involved steel tubes forming a V.

Get then Galvanised and put them on eBay as 'limited edition' Defender mounting brackets and someone will have them for £75!Different landy now and new galv chassis. I'll bin them
