im just amazed at the crap posted on here....a freelander aint a defender so what...... a defender is a commercial truck designed to go through mud and ruts and have crap chucked in the back ... i dont have interior trim cos it has to be hosed out now and again..... the freelander is an estate car with all wheel drive so its got a chance of not getting stuck on a wet school playing field or campsite....... they are two different vehicles for two different markets

me, i drive a disco cos it does what i want for work and doubles as family transport..... i ve no need for a defender cos its crap for the family transport bit, but could see buying a freelander for the doris (pug 306 at the mo) and new range rovers is for pratts wive too much money. the disco has taken the market the rangi was origionally designed for before it became a top end poser's car.,

but the bottom line is they are different vehicles aimed at different users.
All of them gullible.

I've had IIAs, IIIs, a 90 and a Disco. All useful for what I bought them for. I love the banter on this site - making for an entertaining evening's reading on a boring Saturday night stuck in on my own... Came back here after a few years away looking for info and advice on buying a Freelander as a day to day work car for our lass.

I chose to ignore everything that I read and we bought one anyway << goes off to look for "head in the sand smiley >>

So far (1st week) she loves her new motor and I have to admit to being pleasantly impressed by it. It's not an out and out off road vehicle, it's a fancy car, but that's what we / she wanted so all well and good. I was after another Disco but they have height barriers on the car park she has to use for work.........

If I want to play in the mud I have my van anyway, so everyone's a winner as far as I'm concerned.

I reckon it's best not to take stuff too seriously - anyway it's well past beer o'clock now

Still loving it .... lol .......... It looks good it drives well, thats good enough for me .... every car i have ever bought has has shed loads of BAD reviews ,,,, No problems so far he he ....

oh thank the lord, I`m neither a hairdresser nor a fookin chav,
but I`m neither a real tratter driver either,
but did used to service a nice lookin yellow series 3 for a while.
my back even liked it once I "unwelded" the 4 siezed cart springs by wire brushing, then getting molygrease inbetween the leaves, then covering them with more grease & sacking then greased that.
It rode so nice after that I thought it was a disco................
except my belly diddnt fit very well behind the steering wheel....
does on my wanna be disco..lol
now, personal choice or belly sizes matter..hmmmm
