Wow! These Underpigeon designers make you proud to be Britsh. The way they take a normal Range Rover and turn it into something....spectacular. I've been thinking of an lpg conversion - but a petrol engine you can put diesel into - why has no one else thought of this?
I've always thought Rangeys were a bit narrow - so with these improved bulked out side panels (all **** metal) and rear arches you can clear pedestrians from the pavement before you park in the middle of the road, open the door and slide down the sills. It's even been lowered so you don't have far to fall! He's thought of everything!!
Very fair starting price as well considering he's spent 12k ,mainly on sheets of mdf to improve the boot area (although you will need a jigsaw to get to the spare wheel).
'Time to let the toy go'. Damn I'm tempted.:rolleyes:

Maybe they should add a version with flip out wings for those who follow sat navs in the mountains and end up on a dead end with a sheer drop and no turning space?

A brief history first

Another Chitty 'copy' was built by Nick Pointing of the Isle of Wight after his wife Carolyn, a life long Chitty Chitty Bang Bang fan asked him to build her her dream car. It's not based on a 1920's chassis, but on a 1970's Land Rover, so perhaps replica isn't the right word, but MGM approved the car for promotional work of the touring musical production. Not only is their "Chitty" road legal, the couple drove it overland to Australia in 2007/8 to prove its roadworthiness and to raise money for charity. The events of that build and trip are covered in the book "Port Out Starboard Home".
