Situation
Daughter has sold her horse box and wants to move across to a 4x4 that will safely tow an Ifor Williams trailer weighing in at one ton and two horses weighing in at around 1.5 tonnes. She will use this vehicle to go backwards and forwards to her horsey job and do the towing for events and the like. She has a top budget of 11K.
Options
She has looked at all sorts of 4x4's, Ford Ranger, Isuzu whatever, Toyota etc etc and even considered a VW Tourag. Some of these are border line safety wise on towing the weights above but in general have a good reputation. She wants to fit in with the recommended 85% towing recommendation.

Advice please
She has done lots of research and as this is, for her, is a one off opportunity to have this amount of cash available, what should she do. The TD3 will do the towing but she has read various reports on reliability etc and has come away with a major headache after probably a case of analysis paralysis

I would ALWAYS go Japanese for reliability...
And working for toyota would always recommend a landcruiser
