thanks for all the replays guys , the trucks are nearing ready , just wondered if anyone knows of any members in portugal we could contact if the worst happens and we need parts or recovery ? hopefully we won't but it would be nice to have a backup plan for along the way thanks in advance !

I've just come back from Portugal and tried to follow the transportugal route. If you go to wikiloc you will find it. it goes from Bragaca down to Sagres. I've yet to finish it , due to breakdowns, and this was my second attempt.
I wild camped all the way no problems. The route given is quite old so expect some re-routes around gates and closed tracks. There are also some very narrow bits that gave me extreme stress but I got through in my disco 3 with no damage.

I went with another vehicle, disco 2 and wouldn't try it on my own unless I was in a 90.

Great scenery and nobody to bother you.
