That would be great, thanks mate! I’d like to know what type of paint you used, how you applied it and how it turned out. Also, if it scuffs whilst off roading, what is the best way of touching it up so that it blends in?

The run on the top tin should have been the final colour but it came out lighter, i would sacrifice hardner for more colour if i were to do it again, its just you run out of room in the bottle if you follow their instructions. Thats why it would help spraying on a hot day like i did.

The finish came out well and survived a scratchy greenlane with neil the other month. I think youd have a job damaging it as it is that tough,

Like i said prep is key especially around rivet heads etc, I would remove as much as possible if i were you to get a clean look as overspray around washer jets etc looks terrible. Not forgetting etch priming bare metal too.

I couldnt say on repairing it yet though but id imagine if you used the same ratio of paint to hardener youd be ok ( i used a glass beaker and measured ml’s exactly).

Like i said any more qs fire away and ill do my best to help and if your close to bristol i could let you see before you went ahead

Regards tom

That's brilliant, cheers mate! I've been reading through the leaflet that came with my pack and according to the instructions on there, for the best results you need to use solvent based toners from basecoat mixing systems... But I have no idea what that means. Can you decipher it?

It also mentions 2K isocyanate cured paints and says they should be activated before use. So does that mean adding the 2K hardener to the paint and the raptor hardener to the raptor and then mixing the two together?

Mate if you pm me ill give you my number and ill talk you through what worked for me, the internet fried my brain on the subject but it really is so simple when youve got the paint.

YouTube helped.

Where you based? I can help if need be

Keep us posted with results. I wouldn’t be good enough to spray with glossy/shiny finish hence my temptation to try this too. :)

Will do mate. And likewise :D seen a few with it on at shows and it always catches my eye. Hoping to spray it over the next couple of weeks (need to get the chassis rolling first) so I'll let you know how I get on.

Glad you posted this. Was researching other day and as mentioned you need urethane pigment to tint it to required colour. Above looks decent!

Got the colour with the paint. Make sure you shake the colour well enough before adding it as I had 4 attempts of shaking to get rid of the streaks when you take the lid off.
It is as simple as the instructions. Put hardner in, shake. Add colour to specified line. Shake. Put on gun and spray. I'd spray a cardboard sheet for 10 seconds or until you're happy with the performance and what you have to do.

cheers so you did gun it then. Whys everything trying to make me buy the compressor on gumtree down the road??!

Where did you purchase from if you don't mind me asking? I couldn't find it with colour? Just black.

Yeah bought the gun from same place I bought the paint. The roof is done at 80psi. The body (all the grey) is done at 60 psi. I do like the rougher appearance of the 60psi. But, at the time, I wasn’t sure if my air would cope with 80psi.
