Not entirly sure, if mainly used on the road probably not but as your fitting a lift and bigger tyres I'd guess it's not always gonna be on the road.
I dont think they need butchering just trimming back mainly just the return lip of the arch. Mine only seem to catch at the very bottom back edge of the rear arches. I think you can get templates of where to cut as it's a common modification known as a "camel cut". But i think I'd just fit em and see where you need to work them.
