Hello,
I have recently brought a 1978 109, im in the process if prep'ing it for MOT. Its been sitting for 8 years so needs a bit of work.

My question is: the tyres which are on it, 6.50 x 16c while having loads of tread on have cracked side walls so no good for road use. I have been looking at tyre prices and was wondering if there are any other sizes such as 235/70/16 etc etc which are suitable for these Landys?

Many Thanks

What engine? Also 6.50 is standard on 88s isn't it?
On a standard diesel, I'm think 7.50 will increase the gearing too much

thanks for the info, 7.50 seam the way to go, i will keep searching.

out of interest, i pulled the rear brake drums off today, one was fine, the other was full of oil. i guess that the half shaft seal has gone, are they easy to replace?

I've done them on Scannia trucks but not on a 3 series Landy.

Thanks for your help.

George

Usually the Hub oil seal but check the land that it runs on , these are changeable on early axles but new stub axle required on newer ones or a speedi sleeve.
