DIZY

Well before anyone says its been covered a million times i can find it!!!!

Been to a landrover parts specialist today to buy some new rubber only to be told because i have a 2.5 na diesel i cant have 265 75 16 special tracks as my landy will struggle to turn them

I ran my 110 with 265/75/16 BFG Muds when it had a 2.5 NA and it ran fine. I didnt really notice the difference between the stock military wheels/tryes and the BFG mud terrains. Its slow with them and slow without.

ya Landy specialist is a moron..

265/70/16's are smaller than 7.50x 16's or 235/85/16's

He wants 265/75 - Side by side these are actually taller than 750 16 stock size but slightly smaller than 235/85. Obviously they are wider though so there is more drag I guess on the road.

This was paddocks!! He said u cant run 265 75s on a na 2.5 it will knacker or stress the diffs i had 600 quid in my pocket to buy some wheels now im checking ebay if they dont want my money

I've got some General Grabber 235/85/R16s T/Rs on Boost alloys on eBay if your'e interested. If they don't want your money send it to me! :D

With the Defender geared transfer box those tyres would be fine. Slightly slower acceleration but better top speed and lower engine revs for any given motorway cruising speed. The only thing that it could in theory have an impact on would be your clutch, getting the bigger tyres going, it's not going to stress drive train! Bizarre!
