I had 3 of my bfg commercials on defender 110 stabbed at the weekend*, - Front and rear nearside plus spare! leaving me with just the front and rear offside tyres inflated...although one of those has a nail stuck in it that I have been meaning to get fixed for a while
I have ordered 4 new Bfg for the 'road' wheels and was thinking about keeping the best of the old as a spare, however looking at a new one with 10mm of Tread versus the best old one with 4-5mm of tread.... There appears to be quite a difference.
Would such a different tyre be any use as a spare or would it be more likely to cause damage should I ever need to use it? Versus the £150 for a fifth bFg....?
(*All done with a Stanley knife by the look of it and one of my wife's tyres too....But that's another story)
