Hi all my first thread can any one give some info what could be causing feathered inner and outer treads onlrear tyres both passenger and drivers, Michelin synchros all round 8mm tread.

its a sign that the vcu is too stiff and needs replacing. don't drive it it will be damaging the drive-train

Front or back??
If back could be vcu as previous post.
If front then camber fault (worn suspension) or my just need tracking doing

He does state rear tyres !
More details of your freelander will help like engine mileage etc ?

Get the VCU & transmission checked asap or something expensive could go crunch :violent:

On the rear it might not be the vcu it could be your tie bar bushes worn when Freelanders were first made a lot of people complained about this, and LR said that it was a suspenion fault and need to be adjusted , but if the bushes are worn out it will produce the same affect i have just done the wifes car with new bushes as it suffered this problem , but once tyre start to wear you will not stop them from going all the way like that,
