Any tips on making all terrain tyres quieter. Just bought Event ml698 similar to bfgoodrich

Running them at 30psi

They are 1 day and 80mile old. Wondering if they will go quieter once the new "tassles" have worn off?

Tyres are noise rated these days. According to mytyres.co.uk Event ML698 is 74db which is middle to high noise as there are others available 69db up to 76db

You think AT's are loud, don't get extreme treads .. ;)

No, if anything they get louder as tread wears, sorry. Well my BFG's did ..

They're noisier than road only tyres, and mine got noisier as the edges rounded off. Mind, they're not noisy at all compared to MT or extreme tyres .. ;)

Yeah i need to get used to them. Fitted to do a job i suppose, The only comparison i have is to standard road tyres so for me they are strangely loud.

Do i need to inflate them any more than normal, for road use motorways ect?

Stick some special tracks on for a week or two. After that anything you put on will sound quiet.:D

I've got a set of insa dakars and they've got more loud as they've worn down I think..

30psi seems low (for on road) I run my Cooper STT muds at 34psi and they aren't really noticeable.

Quick update. 300 miles later they are now much quieter on the road so must have worn in and all the new tassles??? have worn off

only tried them for boat launching and they seem to have much more grip. so far well worth it

My defender had new general grabber mt's on, and would rumble lile crazy at anything over 55mph. The front diff was fairly worn so i thought it was that. Changed the axle and it still did it!! It seems now the square edges of the treads have worn off its smooth. Still just as noisy on the road though
