Hi guys... long time lurker but 1st time poster.
Thanks for all the advice since I bought my TD4 Freelander 1 just over a year ago (yes I know; I should have bought a real tratter, no the doors havent fallen off yet & no, I wont burn it)
Usually I can find what I need to know using the search function but this is a reasonably specific question regarding whether I can fit certain tyres to my FL.
Currently I've got 215 65 16's on it but they're getting low in the tread dept & its time to treat her to some new boots. Originally I was going for some Discoverer STT's which look very agressive but it seems that now I want to buy they've been discontinued in the right size. Looking around I can see the Discoverer S/T's are available but only in 205 70 16 which according to the various tyre dia calculators out there are 7mm larger overall. I'm pretty sure that these will go on without issue but am I missing something blindingly obvious with fitting slightly narrower tyres over a wider rim?
Failing that I could take the safe option of getting the correct Grabber AT's but they dont look as agressive plus I occasionally have to pull swmbo's horse box over reasonably muddy fields.
Any thoughts or advice are appreciated - thanks in advance.
