I can't be bothered with battery leads or cigar lighter plugs for that matter & used my late father's 1940's brass bodied foot-pump for several years until age got to my leg muscles:(
We have two cars, including a RRC & these days I use a cordless pump, Li-Iron battery which will top up all eight tyres on one charge & a proper 'screw-on' valve connector, as opposed to the usual stupid lever type. Bought on the 'bay for £35 with free postage.

Thanks norseman i will check them out . And thanks Knappster its reassuring to know the T-MAX are ok . How big are they , pictures dont really show actual size .

Regarding connections to the battery as @norseman mentioned. What I did with mine was to fit a 12S (the grey one) trailer socket and OK, I had to uprate the fuse a bit too so that I can pick up 12 volts on the secondary trailer socket. Obviously an Anderson socket would be better, but IMO that's a bit of overkill just for a tyre compressor, and anyway so far I haven't had any problems.

Just don't buy the cheapest you can find, what usually fails on these devices is not the battery or the motor but the compressor itself. You can get to the stage when the thing is still belting away but putting less & less air into the tyre. Sadly like most things no matter what you pay chances are it will be made in the far East. The old saying 'you get what you pay for' doesn't hold up so well these days

Just tried mine out, as shown in previous post.

Std D2 tyre, from 12PSi up to 38 Psi in 4 minutes.

Not the fastest, not the slowest, and not too noisy, just do not use it late at night or in the morning unless you hate your neighbours.

Cheers

I've taken the plunge and gone with the T-Max 70 LPM @ 30psi BA2663 , I have been looking at them on and off for some time now , But needed everyone's help in deciding to go for it . :)

The T-MAX has the same fiddly end . Instructions are a bit naff , in the book it says start pump and then connect to tyre , on the box it says connect to tyre first . I can only guess what it means is start pump if its getting upto its max 150psi to relieve the strain . Will try it out tomorrow and see what it dose .

If its any help, I connect mine to the tyre first then start the compressor. When finished, I do the reverse, stop the compressor then disconnect from the tyre.
The screw-on valve connector is a bit fiddly but you'll soon get used to it.

Thanks brian47 , i tried it today your right it is a bit fiddly . The wire could do with been longer to reach round better , the springy pipe is long enough to reach all round but you have to keep running back to the pump so sort of defeats the object , guess i will suss it out , pass it underneath to the o/s maybe best . The pump itself seems very good , happy with it .
