I've just started watching I Am Legend on sky movies, but you're right, tv hasn't been worth staying in for. In fact, it's a good excuse to get on some lanes after work tomorrow afternoon!! lol.

Sounds pretty good really!! Usually they'll state a mileage lower than they know the tyres will achieve, and in your case, if you're were able to prove the mileage of previous sets (invoices with mileage at the time of change is always worth keeping!!), but some manufacturers will have you jumping through all sorts of hoops to get out of paying out on low mileage claims, and still say no. The last manufacturer I worked for were like that. Always used to annoy the hell out of me when I inspected the tyres and wanted to pay out but was over ruled by my manager!! lol.

Well one things for sure, the Coopers are now in the mix too!!! lol. You're supposed to be helping me choose, not making it harder!! ;)

Grim,thor is USA based,so his warranty will be different for anything in the UK.Coopers do have a decent write up,i have got some on my other car.Pirelli scorpions on my D2.

They're definitely strict with that warranty in the US!!
But having worked in the technical side as an engineer for two of the top four manufacturers, I know how the warranty procedures generally work (and in my last job, I had a problem with someone referring to the warranty in the US, so had to look into that too), hence why I stated what I did, i'm commenting based on knowledge and experience.

Which Pirelli Scorpions do you have? are they A/T's? How well do they perform off road?

I have to admit, I'm probably going to end up with the BF Goodridge, they seem to have better wet weather grip, although slightly less fuel efficient than the others.
 
Hi there, I have general grabbers on my defender they are the ones from it being first registered 2002 done 70k still legal just tending to crack a bit on the walls but they are defo the originals as date on tyre,I'm going for general grabber at2s when I change can't fault em and price isn't too bad either

As for the bit in bold, the Coopers may be soon discontinued but the General Grabber AT2 was discontinued a couple of years ago ;)

The part where you mention the performance really dropping off when half worn is kind of to be expected and also true of any tyre that is half worn, it was for absolutely all of the ones I ever owned, half worn means half as good as they were when new :rolleyes:

I already run Cooper STTs but want a slightly less aggressive tyre for daily hum drum that can cope with unexpected rough stuff and have just bought 5 Cooper ST MAXX in 245/75R16, just a tad smalller than the 235/85R16s :)
