Tappets are always a owners concern , due to the worst outcome scenarios, though i drove my rangie with a slight noise and never had any bother. My advice is if its worrying you that much get a qualified second opinion for piece of mind

As I said, they can only be heard when your head is really close to the engine and engine cold. Stand in front of the car with open bonnet you can't hear a thing... So I will check this oil Wynn's Hydraulic Valve Lifter 350ml and see how it goes.

Thanks for your advise!

Hi
My 91 classic had a sound which was exactly like tappet sound, from around the
spark plugs. This was a blowing exhaust manifold gasket.
Nice and easy to fix as long as the bolts come out.

Interesting since as I mentioned the sound is also coming around this area as well (right side when facing the engine), hope it is as simple as you suggested!

Mine was left side facing the car, but you have a exhaust manifold both sides.

If you place a length of pipe to your ear you can trace the source of the noise.
Careful what you are doing obviously.

I just came back from my favorite garage, and everything is fine.

1. Tapet Noise. It was indeed tapet noise (that diapered since last time), but nothing to worry. According to them, the car was not used for a long time and the oil in the engine went to the bottom living not enough lubricant for the tapets. And indeed more I used the car less I could hear the tapet noise and today the Tapets were totally silents.

2. Electric noise rear right arch wheel/Passenger door : It was indeed the Fuel pump. Since then the noise is less important like a quiet humming.

So conclusion, next time I am flying away from Japan for a long time I will ask a friend of mine to drive the car the week end ;-)
