Hifly's right but i still put the lot in !! what was that kit on ebay ? i still haven't done out with mine et i just run 50% in the tank and its a EDC engine !!! …… tick tick tick BOOOOM

It wasn't a kit as such I just bought bits to copy my mates fancy pants German kit. I got a heat exchanger, 2 solenoids and all the coolant hoses etc and fitted it the same as my mates and it works well. Don't notice any difference when running on oil apart from the old 200 TDI is a bit quieter! Hiflys comments have made me think a bit more about the water in oil issue though.

Yes water in the oil can be a issue but i ran a Citroen xantia HUD engine for 4 years 120k 100% WVO, with no issues not even a blocked filter, i crudely often poured it in straight from the pub store !! i would generally filter the oil and then allow it to settle pump of the top and discard the really creamy gunk at the bottom

to be totally honest i only ever had problems ish in the winter with the WVO slushing below -5

I have never really thought of the water as a issue but can see how it could cause damage more worrying than water would be the Acidic value of the WVO as that generally what ruins the seals and rubbers, but hey the above results speak for themselves

I've got a nice stash of new rapeseed oil which I'm hoping to save for the winter. I've read its supposed to cope with colder temperatures better than other veg oils. Did you mix a bit of diesel into the oil winter time to thin it a bit?

the taxation page is out of date but all the other info is good and i think a must read if you want to run veg or bio its a good basis to further research/testing.

Things are always moving on so if you are interested in keeping up to date you would be best to join the veg forum listed in my sig.

Nope just truck on never really use new oil never mix it with out, if your sensible about it all you'll be fine just remember never hot filter the oil and always try to filter the oil as cold as the outside air temperature then you wound over stress the pump with a blocked fuel filter. don't trow away the winter waster filter oil store it, because in the summer you can go back to it and use it in the summer as it will have melted :D
