Hi,
looking for some help please, with a problem I have on my Defender TD5 110 Van.
When I accelerate I get a tweeting sound, it seems to be from the front, but not 100% sure.It only happens on acceleration, as soon as I lift off the pedal it disappears.
Have checked under the bonnet and the belts seem fine.
Also, could anybody recommend a good independant Landy garage in North Lincolnshire please?

Propshaft universal joint on the way out,one or more journal run dry, its likley to be the joint at the gearbox front output, dont bother trying to grease it, get a new one and grease it often.

Tottot might be bang on - mine had the exact same problem and it been annoying me for the last couple of weeks. Got it up on the ramp on friday and, you've guessed it, hardy spicer joint on the ront prop is absolutely hanging!

Good call tottot.

Had the same problem with my TD5 Disco. Just spent half of today replacing exhaust manifold gasket. Also 2 broken studs. One already broken and one broke when taking it off.
Already replaced belt,tensioner and idler.
I might start a survey on how much money people have spent on parts that didn't fix the problem.

For some reason my 90 eats this joint every 4 to 5k miles[it does work in dirty conditons]but other joints last a lot longer, even changed shaft, no better,so keep a spare shaft ready for a quick change.Sounds like a flock squabling sparrows under your feet dont it.Cheers.
