Hi all, been playing this weekend ,(Maintainence mainly) I tried to move the wastegate acuator and it doesn`t move. I am thinking it is seized. Nanocom showing no boost so this confirms it I think. Is it possible to free it or shall I just take the Turbo off . Any thoughts please. Thanks all.

Seized open sounds unlikely as it spends a lot of time closed. How did you check for boost pressure?

Nanocom shows 1. something even when revved never moves
That could be a duff MAP sensor, blipping the throttle doesn't have a lot of effect, if it's an auto, put it in gear, left foot hard on brake and bring the revs up slowly. I have a turbo on the bench at the moment, I'll have a close look at the waste gate tomorrow and maybe take photo's.

Thanks ,I appreciate that
Unfortunately the bit I wanted to show you has gone in the bin:oops:
The waste gate is opened by pressure in the compressor side with spring return. It's normal state is closed. Anything is possible but it seems unlikely that it would stick open. You could pull the pressure pipe off and see if you get boost pressure. On my diagnostics, I get boost pressure and atmospheric pressure shown. To raise the boost pressure you have to do more than blip the throttle.

Thanks for that Keith, I will give it a good looking at on the next nice day we have. Thanks again

The engine has to be ,strained slightly to get the turbo boosting ,,If you watch modified tractor pulling ,they gently up the strain till the turbo comes on song and whistling ,then usually BANG ..:D:D.
