Hi Robin, welcome to the forum. Ignore the drivel from these idiots, they obviously can't be arsed to give an answer that will help you solve your problem.

Luckily, there are some forum members who are more helpful and will offer actual solutions to your problem.

In this case, luckily, the solution is simple:

DON'T REV IT PAST 2500 RPM

Simples.

Are you sure it's not meant to sound like that? My turbo makes a subtle whine when it kicks in at around 2k revs. I quite like it but the clatter of the diesel engine soon drowns out the turbo noise :(

split pipe ,poorly turbo or restricted air flow feel aroud pipes for leaks while someone revs engine, remove pipes of inlet side at turbo both from filter and one to intercooler and rev it see if it still squeals ,check to see with engine off whether turbine shaft can be moved enough so that blades hit housing

James could you please clarify that this must be done whilst the vehicle is stationary...:D

bottom elbow sometimes splits, check all pipes but before you buy new pipework just check the inlet manifold bolts, yes i am speaking from experience! ordered new pipes other day and just checked inlet manifold low and behold loose bolt! yes it is fixed now and the pipes have yet to arrive
