Hi guys! Looking for some pointers!!

Ive got a 2007 FL2 HSE with a 132,000 miles on the clock. Engine Management light is up with "Reduced Engine Performance" occasionally kicking in. I can hear my turbo dumping pressure under strain and also her it whistling when I dip the cutch between 1st and 2nd. (sounds cool!! but ive never heard it before so assuming something aint right!!) I've put a diagnostics on the car and it came back with boost senor A, MAF sensor and an exhaust sensor... I've been trawling the internet and also getting in there and poking around. (by no means a mechanic, its worth pointing out!!) I did however find a substantial split in the air intake pipe. It was pushing air out of this split when the engine was revved, creating the turbo dumping noise I heard! sooo as a temp fix I wrapped a whole roll of electrical insulation tape around it and it seems to have stopped the dump noise... BUT not the whistling... the scary thing is I found a puddle of oil in that air intake pipe. I'm hoping its from the oil separator on the breather pipe and perhaps I've found it soon enough, and that my turbo isn't damaged!? Of course the alternative is the seals on the turbo gone??? Basically guys I'm a bit out my depth now and need pointing in the right direction... what do you guys think?
 
A small amount of oil in the intake is normal and nothing to worry about.

You’ll need to replace the split pipe and see if the issue is resolved - you’ve only done a partial repair currently.

Thanks for your reply!! All understood on replacing the pipe. With regards to that, do the 4 church organ looking tubes that come down from the air intake pipe do anything?? basically do I need to buy the exact one again or could I just use a standard straight pipe??

With regards to the turbo noise... any concerns there?? Or would you be confident that replacing the pipe will resolve this?

It split right on the end, just before the jubilee clip! I've also included a picture to try and show just how much oil was in there!

Hi guys,

Sit rep! Replaced the air intake pipe, and the car is performing a little better but still not boosting properly! Engine Management light still on as well, accompanied by the "tsss" from I'm assuming the turbo.... Im thinking the next step is to change the boost actuator?? Unless you guys can think of something else I've probably overlooked?? Appreciate any help gents, bit out my depth with this one and too poor to pay a mechanic!!!
