Hi All,
I'm cleaning up my engine bay starting with making a new engine wiring loom. The previous owner(s) have made a complete mess with many many connectors not connected and many other cables just snapped and hanging loose. While getting the engine loom out I came across ERR2083 which had the boost pipe not connected (loom connector was in place). I googled, no idea what it exactly does and if I need it. My EGR is blanked. I have a 110 300TDi.

Anyone any insights?

Yes just a throttle cable, in which case the sensor is irrelevant, is the engine from a disco by any chance?
The plug and cable on top of the inj pump was for the egr, again obviously not fitted so one less thing to worry about.

The engine indeed comes from a disco, done by the previous owner. This clarifies it for me! I will keep the sensor out and remove all EGR related wiring/connectors from the loom.
Thanks!
ps. still wondering what the purpose was when functional. Did this sensor tell the inj pump to add/lessen fuel, based upon parameters measured by the EGR valve (or somewhere close to this)?

Thats basically it, they also had a sensor on injector number 4, a sliding flap air flow meter (seriously old hat tech), EDC inj pump, basically very early electronic diesel.
Though when chipped they were a proper flying machine, no std inj pump model would get close grunt wise.
