Nec flectitur nec mutant
Hi guys,

Bought my 5th D1 last October and just spent the last 4 months doing the usual. Arches / Boot / removed the sunroofs / new lights etc etc.
I bought a replacement intercooler > turbo hose and while replacing all the fluids last night changed over the 90 degree elbow and short straight section as the kit didn't come with the long solid pipe! well least I know now.

However she started with what seemed to be turbo whistle but only under boost which is what you would expect, so lunch time today I re-adjusted the pipes to be sure all was sealed up.
The whistle turned into whoosh noise now, so still got an air leak.

Think I will be changing back to the original pipes as going away on Friday (Dover > Lincolnshire) until I get more time to go over it.

Question is (sorry long intro)
I've still got full power under boost as I'd expect but is there anything detrimental to the engine / turbo if the leak is still present if I can't solve it?

Things to check.
* Intercooler
* Intercooler hoses to turbo
* Inlet / exhaust manifold (had quick look but likely need to replace gasket set)
* Turbo boost to IP
* Air filter to turbo

TIA.

The only concern i would have is it will want to over fuel which isn't great for our style of diesel motor - so should be a fair amount more smoky
