I have an 1995 4.6 gems engine and need to replace crankshaft oil seal so whilst this is being done I thought I might tune up the engine and have £4000 to spend on parts I have found stage 3 heads and lots of different cam shafts I wondered if anyone out there had any advice on what to get would like to get as close to 300 bhp as I can thanks

That should knock the bottom end out in double quick time.

That's the amount of cash for parts didn't explain to well can get new engine for 1695 so just exploring
Go for a full race engine, the last one I priced for a TVR Tuscan was £35000 but that was a long time ago, then stick it into a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a two ton brick and finally ask yourself WHY.o_O

With a range rover its torque you want a few guys have put in a Kent cam along with slightly worked heads.

It's a bit slow on initial acceleration that's why I am looking at tuning may just need rebuild but worth looking at thankd

Going to look at a torque cam and leave it to my mechanic just thought I might get some ideas on this site

A few have tried different cams but usually on the later Thor engines. Think @martynv8 had a play with different cams. Check the Turner Engineering website and see what they offer.

My Kent 180 cam was nice (Turners). Low end torque improved & initial acceleration was smoother & improved. It ran out of puff higher up the rev range but then it's a 4X4 RR.
