Why change the engine if it s going OK? 19J's will run for years if serviced properly and won't chew up your gearbox like a tdi.
Seems like everyone wants to say they've got a tdi.

Over 3000 miles with my 300 tdi including heavy towing and never a gearbox problem or otherwise at 200 bhp +:eek:
 
You got a build thread any where for that, as I'm thinking of a 300 tdi conversion for the future and am always a sucker for more power

The kits for all the engines will be available shortly once Iv'e put the website together its not as simple as people are finding out to get real power out of a landy but its possible and theres loads of bhp there if you have the experience to tease it out and loads of time to reasearch it.:cool:

Never in a million years will an engine that is modified and set up correctly wear any faster than a standard one.

The majority of people who modify motors have no experience or listen to advice that has no proof or fact at all behind it and the engine they are working on is not in very good order to start with,
Also if a standard land rover motor was any good to start with why does everyone want more power out of them. They are bullet proof I have spent a long time designing the kits I run and have proved the engines are not at fault for the lack of bhp it is just the way it breathes and the way it is set up.I have over 20 years experience with the motor industry and turbo design so trust me I know what I am talking about I Have not even had to change a leaky gasket or add a drop of oil or water in mine.:D

sound more like a bull****ter to me , you get more power by bigger bang,more air and fuel that adds stress , the engine designed to be somewhat under powered as is in a land rover not a hot hatch

Firstly if you want to sell anything through LZ you need to PM accywingy and ask about sponsorship.

Secondly 3000 miles is a walk in the park for a Tdi and proves nothing.

Completely agree.

Of course more power is there for the taking, but a standard Tdi will live 200k+ which is what makes them such a good engine.

Most professional tuners reckon on 160 bhp max before significantly reducing engine life

Both are done by adjusting the timing and the fuel/air delivery to the cylinders ... and that includes the use of turbos.

Fuel additives have been known to boost the bangs slightly over a short periiod, so anything else to my mind (50 years experience) smells of a combination of bovine excrement mixed with snake oil ;)

I have proven my kits and had a buyer for my stage one conversion before I had even fully tested it and he races a tomcat and after 3000 miles plus my vehicle has not put a foot wrong.I use it daily for my log buisness and at one point pulled my 12 foot ifor with 4 ton on plus the weight of the landy and trailer which weighs 1800k and it accelerated up hill in fifth so the coment from the guy earlier about me being a bull****ter is a laugh.
I have people waiting to buy my stuff all over the place and they will soon be available for fitment to any landy.I will be posting a vid soon when I next go out in it to set up that will shut up all the dis believers.

I do this for a living not a hobby some people are just too quick to believe what others tell them without proven facts. I have over 20 years of designing and building race engines for various things and trust me theres masses of power to gain from what Ive done watch the vid when it goes on and look at my engine bay even unfinished you will get my point then not something bodged together with a tenners worth of second hand pipe of another scrap car:)

Very funny its odd how mine has tons more bhp and uses no more fuel infact on light boost uses less,,,,,,,,,proven proven proven but believe what you will it makes no difference to me I run one of the quickest landys in the country with masses of torque and use no more fuel Suits me:D

Thanks for the info ,,,,,,,,,I chose to start tuning these though as the claims from other tuners were very lame 160 bhp is useless and hardly a big increase for the money they charge for a vvt and a load of black smoke.from lucky dip pump tuning:eek:
 
Ah yes but does your top trump card say 3000 miles + @ over 200bhp :eek:

You dont listen do you, you turn your Landy into a hothatch, doesn't bother me but 3000 miles is nothing and your engine will wear out much faster unless your beefing everything up, as in building from scratch

Yes I do listen thanks for the advice but being as though I do this for a living and sell kits to people who race them without any problems I think you will find 20+ years in this field qualifies me a little more on the subject than most and a hot hatch it is not it is a properly powered truck with reliability why do you think everyone is trying to get more power.............. they have just done it wrong from bad advice:rolleyes:thanks for your input though.
 
what yourll find thats annoying most people is that your just basically saying mine is better than everyone elses because i say so.

you have introduced no proof other than what you say so.

also you stated at first 250+ bhp

then later 200+ bhp

whats next 150+ bhp?



my bike engine gives 80 bhp from 450cc. non turbo'd

engine life expentancy - typically 2000 miles before it dies a rather messy death
